JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to greet and process CCWA recreation area visitors.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Checks visitor permits and passes, which allow fishing and picnicking on recreation
  • Collects permit fees and balances cash
  • Answers visitor telephone calls: provides information regarding hours of operation, permit prices, etc.
  • Records daily activities in the ledger for Control
  • Opens and closes recreation area visitor gates; verifies visitors have departed recreation areas; cleans and locks/unlocks restrooms; and disarms/sets alarm systems.
  • Processes a variety of documentation associated with Department/Division operations within designated timeframes and per established procedures.
  • Performs other assigned

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; six (6) months of work experience that shows an ability to maintain steady employment in any field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as heavy work involving lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. If someone can do heavy work, then he or she can also do medium, light, and sedentary work.
  • Tasks typically involve some combination of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and prolonged standing; tasks may also involve some pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of heavy weight. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

  • Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature, noise extremes, traffic hazards, bright/dim lights, toxic agents, animal/wildlife attacks, animal/human bites, water hazards, or rude/irate customers.
  • Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
