Operations Manager

The Operations Manager will manage the daily warehouse operations of the facility by supervising the drivers and warehouse staff and assist customers on the phone and in-person.

We are looking for self-sufficient, motivated Operations Manager for our Kelowna location on  Adams Road who want to help us expand our fast-growing business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse operations. This includes guiding, assigning, and training personnel to receive, store, and distribute building materials
  • Assist the Branch Manager with hiring of drivers and warehouse staff
  • Manage warehouse staff schedules and attendance
  • Dispatch and oversee the dispatching of trucks for timely and accurate delivery of product to job sites
  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure that orders are pulled timely and accurately, and that they are loaded and unloaded for the vendor or customer promptly
  • Assist warehouse personnel in loading and unloading trucks using forklifts
  • Participate in inventory control, which may include all or some of the following: purchasing, weekly cycle counts, review, and disposition of damaged and outdated stock. Other duties include: order processing, day-end balancing, and assisting with all other areas of running the branch
  • Ensure branch is safety compliant and operating within the standards of the company by conducting safety audits and meetings
  • Oversee maintenance and operation of tractors, trailers, and forklifts

 

Requirements

  • Experience running operations and working in a warehouse, distribution center, shipping and receiving department, or similar environment with similar responsibilities
  • Basic math skills for inventory counts
  • Strong verbal and written skills along with the ability to read purchase orders and communicate with team members
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedly
  • Reliable, safe, and a team player
  • High school diploma or GED. College courses are a plus
